Prep & Cook Info
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
- Cook Time: 12–15 minutes
- Servings: 12 pinwheels
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed but cold
- 4–6 oz deli ham, thinly sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheese (Gruyère, Swiss, or Cheddar)
- 1 cup shredded zucchini (squeezed dry with a paper towel)
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional, for spreading)
- 1 egg + 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Prep the Pastry Sheet: Unroll the cold puff pastry onto a piece of parchment paper. Lightly brush with Dijon mustard if desired.
- Layer the Filling: Lay down an even layer of sliced deli ham, top with shredded cheese, and sprinkle the dried shredded zucchini evenly over the top.
- Roll & Chill: Starting from the long edge, tightly roll the pastry into a log using the parchment paper to assist. Wrap the roll and place it in the freezer for 10–15 minutes to firm up for easier slicing.
- Slice into Pinwheels: Remove from the freezer and use a sharp or serrated knife to cut the log into 12 equal slices (about 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick).
- Air Fry:
- Preheat air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
- Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper (or lightly grease). Arrange pinwheels in a single layer with space between each slice.
- Lightly brush the tops with egg wash.
- Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through if needed, until golden brown, puffed, and crisp.
- Serve: Let cool for 3–5 minutes before serving.
